Mientras que un diagrama como señalan Peirce y Deleuze, "es la relación entre materia informe/desorganizada y funciones no informales/sin finalizar", el mapeado o mapping podría definirse como la compleja relación/interactuación entre numerosos datos, representada de una manera estéticamente atractiva, de eficaz y clara lectura (definición del autor) que persiguen las emociones del espectador. En ocasiones serán representaciones puramente artísticas, orientadas más a mostrar un hecho preocupante que los propios datos.

Interpreto Las Ciudades Invisibles, escrito por Italo Calvino están conectadas múltiplemente, conexión que entiendo a partir de un anillo cuyo origen es Venecia, a la que se retorna a lo largo de las páginas leídas, de la que quizá nunca se sale. El mapa topográfico, por llamarlo de algún modo, se genera con una gama de ocres y amarillos similares a los de la acuarela que sirve como base, dando cierta verosimilitud a las ubicaciones y distancias entre la ciudad de los canales y sus satélites.
I do think that Invisible Cities, written by Italo Calvino are multiply connected, connection that as far as I understand could be a ring whose origin is Venice, city in which the reader returned along the pages read, and maybe never he could come off. The above topographic map, to call it in some way, is generated with a range of ocher and similar yellows to the watercolor background, obtaining some plausibility to the locations and distances between Venice and its satellites.
