Lujuria

Las ciudades invisibles, de Italo Calvino es una écfrasis a partir de objetos imaginados por Marco Polo, quien narra a Kublai Khan las características de cada una de ellas. Los nueve capítulos del libro se desarrollan de una manera simétrica: diez relatos conforman el primer y noveno bloques, siendo de cinco los restantes. Todos abren y cierran con un texto en cursiva, en el cual Polo y Khan reflexionan y conversan. Perteneciente al grupo Oulipo, Calvino busca nuevas formas y estructuras literarias aplicando restricciones, restricciones que numerosos arquitectos consideran cuando proyectan para obtener nuevos enfoques.

Invisible Cities, written by Italo Calvino, is an ekphrasis from objects imagined by Marco Polo when he wants to described their particulars to Kublai Khan. The nine chapters are developed in a symmetrical manner: the first and the ninth chapters have ten stories, while there are and only five in the rest of the book. The conversation hold between Polo and Khan is written with italics before the sequence of the stories. Calvino, belonging to Oulipo Group, seeks new ways to find original literary forms and structures applying restrictions -the restrictions are used also by architects to find new approaches-.

Oulipo aúna dos disciplinas aparentemente antagónicas, como son las matemáticas y la literatura, al igual que también sucede en arquitectura, donde lo programático y geométrico se replantea con fuerza de nuevo gracias a la ayuda de los ordenadores. Autores como Queneau, Perec, Cortázar o Duchamp fueron destacados miembros del grupo Oulipo. La calidad de su literatura respaldaría la técnica y el proceso realizado. Existen algunas interpretaciones o deducciones de este estilo; en este sentido, la Revista Suma ha publicado nueve (como los capítulos del libro) artículos de Miquel Albertí Palmer que razonan las matemáticas inherentes de algunos de los relatos de Las ciudades invisibles.

Oulipo brings together two apparently antagonist disciplines such as mathematics and literature, something that happens also in Architecture, where the programmatic and geometric is hardly rethought again with the help of a computer system.Writers like Perec, Quenau, Cortazar or Duchamp were prominent members of the Oulipo Group. The qualitiy of their literature could, somehow, support the process investigated by them. There are many deductions or critics of thi style; Suma Magazine has issued ninecollaborations (could it be a coincidence with the nine chapters of the book?) written by Miguel Alberti Palmer, trying to deduct the mathematics contained in several stories included in Invisible Cities.

Y es a partir de la mención directa o indirecta de sexo en determinadas ciudades, lo que me lleva a crear un teórico Mapping de Encuentros, pretendiendo medir las relaciones según el día de la semana y la temperatura del lugar.

I create a theorical Meetings Mapping from the direct or suggested sex mentions in certain cities, measuring the relations depending on the day of the week and the climatic temperature of locations.

Tamaño DIN A5 aprox., sobre la que se aplican programas informáticos estableciendo emplazamientos, vinculaciones y vacíos. Impresión original firmada y sellada por detrás en tamaño A4 para evitar falsificaciones. Ejemplar único.

The original watercolor has been worked with Photoshop to add the net that links locations with sex and relations between them. Original print signed over a special seal to avoid fakes.
