DECLARACIÓN - STATEMENT
El filósofo José Gaos, español exiliado durante la Guerra Civil española y pronto nacionalizado mejicano en 1941, país en el que moriría en 1969, consideraba que entre los "fenómenos de conciencia", tanto imágenes como recuerdos, pensamientos y la mayoría de los sentimientos, no tienen naturaleza de actos. Serían actos las percepciones, o los propios actos de imaginar, recordar y pensar, o el propio acto de amar u odiar. "La imagen de un centauro es el equivalente del caballo percibido. No es el equivalente del acto de la percepción. Lo equivalente del acto de la percepción con que percibimos el caballo, es el acto de la imaginación con que nos imaginamos la imagen del centauro". Imágenes, recuerdos, pensamientos o la mayoría de los sentimientos no son actos, sino objetos de actos. Por tanto lo equivalente al acto de percibir un paisaje -La Albufera de Valencia-, un entorno urbano -la Plaza de Cibeles- o un yate, es el acto de imaginarlos. Porque como decía Gaos, "...las imágenes no son actos[...]sino objetos de actos".

Perceptions would be acts, or imagining acts themselves, or remembering and thinking, or the act of love and hate itself. 'The image of a centaur is the equivalent of the horse perceived. It is not the equivalent of the of the act of perception. The equivalent of the act of perception we perceive the horse, is the act of imagination that we imagine the image of a centaur'. Images, memories, thoughts or most of feelings are not acts, but intentional objects. Therefore the equivalent of the act of perceiving a landscape -La Albufera, Valencia- or an urbanscape -Plaza de Cibeles- or a yatch, is the act of imagination. As Gaos said, 'the images are not acts[...]but objects of acts'.

Y como tales objetos, puede proponerse su representación. Si hay conformidad entre la proposición y la realidad percibida, la propuesta será verdad, y falsa si ocurre lo contrario. Por tanto que el artista proponga objetos que ve o desearía ver, sin que se pierda la percepción de tales objetos, sería verdad. Estos trabajos son la forma más auténtica que encuentro para no sólo representar cada objeto, sino de presentarme a través del agua y del color.
And as such objects, representation may be proposed. If there is an agreement between the proposition and the perceived reality, the proposal will be true, and false if the opposite happens. Therefore, if the artist proposed objects that he sees or is wishing to see, without losing the perception of such objects, the proposed would be true. I find these works the truest way to represent not only each object, but to introduce me through the water and color.

La propuesta para que el espectador perciba los objetos presentados en esta exposición se produce a través de su acto de imaginar: no persiguen la exactitud en su representación, sino que el espectador los complete conforme a su imaginario. Si el espectador realiza el acto de recordar o imaginar el objeto representado, y lo percibe como su equivalente, el objeto será verdad.
The proposal for the viewer is to perceive the objects of this exhibition through the act of imagining: objects do not chase the accuracy of their representation, but to complete them due the viewer's imagination. If the viewer does the act of remembering or imagining the object represented, and the viewer perceives as equivalent, the object will be true.

Entonces cabe que las propuestas apenas contengan unos rasgos suficientemente distintivos de la Catedral o de la Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Matamoros, o por qué no, de la Casa Cross o del edificio de la Presidencia Municipal, para que el ojo del matamorense las percibiera como válidas, permitiéndole incluso en ocasiones, la libertad para que cierre el dibujo. Podría sugerirse por color, por línea, y cómo no, por ambas.
So the proposals could contain some sufficiently distinctive features of the Cathedral, or the Sacred Heart Church of Matamoros, or why not, the Cross Building or the City Hall, and the matamorenses's eye could perceive them as meaningful, allowing sometimes the freedom to close the drawing. It might be suggested by color, line, and of course, using both of them.

Se han trabajado varias técnicas: seco sobre seco (evitando la transparencia habitual del medio), húmedo sobre seco, y húmedo sobre húmedo.
Several techniques have been used: dry on dry (avoiding the usual transparency of the watercolor), wet in dry and wet in wet.
